Some Things

Do you ever get daily reminders about how uncool you are?  I do.  Constantly.  For example, did you know there are multiple kinds of champagne?  I had no clue, and when I went to purchase some for Sister's big Bachelorette/Lingerie Party this weekend, I was stuck in the aisle for a considerable amount of time, trying to Google on my blackberry about which kind of champagne to purchase.  So, I had to call Mr. Smith and Sister for reinforcements.  I am 87% sure I got the right kind.

Next reminder: as I went to store last night to pick up something festive for a friend's "Stock the Bar" party tonight, the same thing happened.  I stood, in the aisle, like a complete dork because I had no clue what I was doing.  Who knew there were so many different kinds of rum?  The lady (and I say that generously) behind the counter finally had to call out, "Ma'am?  Are you okay or confused about something?"  And then followed up my peppering of questions with, "Honey, are you sure you're 21?"  Sweet.

Needless to say, we've got another busy weekend ahead of us.  A friend's "Stock the Bar" party tonight, and Sister's "Last Fling before the Ring" par-tay tomorrow night.  I'm attempting a breakfast casserole for the ladies as well, so I will be sure to let you know the success rate of that.  And while I'm sure you'd all love to see pics of Saturday night's festivities, I will keep it classy on here and only post those appropriate.

Mr. Smith had a burst of yardwork enthusiasm last night and worked in the yard until 8pm.  And declared big plans for more yardwork this weekend.  We'll see how that goes, especially since he's feeling a tad under the weather this morning.

In another news...  Sadly, our neighbors, the Thompson's, have moved.  Mr. Thompson apparently made some offhand comment to Mr. Smith about taking whatever we wanted in what they left in their garage.  To which I promptly and excitedly grabbed Mr. Smith's hand and raced over there.  One man's trash is another person's treasure, right?  We scored a bookcase (mine is overflowing, big time), an iron patio table w/ four chairs (can be painted) and a Christmas wreath.  Mr. Smith also picked up some camoflauge (sp?) coveralls.  And when I remarked that "Honey, aren't those a little small for you?"  He graciously let me know that they were, in fact, for me.  We'll see how that goes.  Before & After pictures to come on our new treasures!
