There's been some recent controversy in the news in the past week.
In case you aren't up to speed, a Strategist from one political party basically insinuated that a Wife of another political party's candidate had not "worked a day in her life." Because she had been a stay-at-home mom to five boys. (I'm not going to bore you with political party labels and such, because even though I love me some politics, this is not the time or place for that.)
Excuse my language... but what the crap?
Motherhood is hard enough, we can't turn on each other ladies!
Having done both roles of "stay-at-home mom" and "corporate mom" in the past year, I can safely say that both are "working mom" titles.
Both leave you feeling with a fatigue that you can never seem to shake.
The feeling of a To Do List that will never be fully accomplished.
The discovery of Desitin under your fingernails hours after a diaper change.
The running theme of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in your head all day.
And the adventure of a lifetime.
Because being a Mother, whether in a suit or sweatpants, is hard.
To be entrusted with the care and well-being of another from birth until, well - forever, is a daunting task.
A Gamechanger, really.
To know every decision made will be based around what's best for your child.
And other Mothers are the only ones who can grasp this.
So let's all stay on the same team.
The Pro-Mommy Team, ok?
Because we all put our pants on the same as everyone else - one leg at a time.
And, let's be honest, sometimes you're just glad you remembered to put on pants before running out the door.
