Reflections on Game Day Wear

We've just returned from another rousing Game Day in T-Town, where we spent a couple of hours on the Quad doing what I like to do best...

People Watching.

And there's no shortage of interesting people to watch on a Game Day in T-Town.

However, I'm perplexed by this season's trends that the college gals are rocking.

Apparently the goal is to wear as little clothing as possible.

And the clothing that is worn needs to be as tight as possible.

Or as short as possible.

I could have sworn these gals are forgetting to put their pants on before leaving their dorm/sorority house.

And one lady was wearing what resembled a Kleenex tissue and nothing else.
Did I mention it was raining?
She was either completely clueless or completely brilliant.

And the skirts - tube tops from the Little Girls section, perhaps? - are so short that you would think there would be a TV blurred censor.

Now, granted, I realize I'm getting older.

And I've had a good-natured giggle at Game Day Wear in the past - my favorite is usually the person who heaps on anything and everything in their wardrobe that's red, crimson, or houndstooth.  Regardless if it matches or coordinates.... like they're getting ready for Battle or something.

But this is an epidemic.

Put some clothes on ladies!

T-Town has a great tradition of dressing up for the Game - we get it from Coach Bear Bryant, who always looked snazzy for his Games.

Let's not let the Bear down, ok?

Friday Favorites

I'm taking a cue from a fellow blogger/bestie and doing a Friday Favorites edition.

Mostly because I'm mentally spent by the end of the week and have zilch creativity left.

1.  www.6pm.com
A co-worker recently clued me in to this fabulous find.
You know I hate to spend a fortune on clothes, and this website proved ah-mazing.
Plus, it's on ebates.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Perfection.
Thanks Ariana!

3.  Pinterest
I know.... I know... but I've gotten some great Fall ideas on there this week.
Proof in Pictures to come!

4.  Fall TV Season Premieres
Even though most of them are DVR'ed to watch at a later time (read: once H goes to bed), it's still nice to see something different on the tube.

Happy Friday y'all!

17 Months Old

Dear Harrison,

You are 17 months old!  And turning into quite the little man.

You are still in Size 4 diapers, and Size 12-18 Months and 18 Month clothing.  If you're wearing anything that is Sized 12 Month.... there's a cute little belly poking out from it!  Your hair is getting really curly in the back, and although I probably should trim it, I just can't bring myself to do it.

Segway into... a growing appetite.  Although you're still really picky, you love your Milk, Pediasure, PB&J sandwiches, Goldfish crackers, Muffins, Mac & Cheese, and sometimes if you finish your dinner.... a Chips Ahoy cookie.  You also love pudding, ice cream, breads, rolls, and really any carbs.  Still no veggies or fruits - not even juice - that you're loving.  When you do eat, you usually insist on feeding yourself.

You are RUNNING everywhere, not just waddling along.  Lucky for us, you also love climbing stairs and are fearless.

You are still obsessed with Mickey Mouse, Little Einsteins, books, music, ceiling fans, TV remote controls, iPhones, laptops, Cooper, and Abby.  You also recently discovered "swimming" in the bath tub.

You just started getting in some molars in that mouth of yours, and you're jabbering away with new sounds all the time.  I've likened it to a Teletubbie or an Ewok.  Take your pick.

Love you bunches!

Big Man on Campus

Someone I know had a ball whilst cheering on the Tide from the Quad on Saturday.

Look at my Big Man on Campus!

He waved and greeted every single person that walked by.

Obviously, it's an Election Year, folks.

The sidewalks were just beacons of adventure.... by running.

Running.

Which is a lot easier when you're 2 feet tall.

Not - say - 5'4 and wearing flip flops.

With a huge camera around your neck, trying to capture the memories.

And attempting to weave through enthusiastic Roll Tiders.

I digress, because quite frankly in this picture there is no crowd.

Probably because we played a high school team on Saturday.

We loved watching the Millionaire Dollar Band Parade on their way to the Stadium.

We also felt the need to greet every dog we encountered.

This may have caused some mild panic on my part.

We hydrated.

We spilled hydration all over Daddy.

We almost yanked out Aunt Suz's earring, causing injury to our favorite preggers lady.

But managed to salvage her earlobe, and get a cute picture.

That I will make sure is in her Nursery.

Ahem.

We also gave our own Game Day commentary at the Tent.

And, for the most part, left in one piece.

Sigh.

Let's start all over again this Saturday!

Nobody ever said the Road to 15 would be easy...

Celebrating Cultures Day

Have I mentioned how much I love H's school?

Last Friday was "Celebrating Cultures Day."

Knock me over with a feather.

You know I love that stuff.

Here's H, doin' his thang:

Kid's got rhythm.

Can I bring them all home with me?

Hi!

Hi!

Long time, no see.

But we're alive, don't you worry.

Here's proof, with some sass from a 17-month-old Pork Chop:

We're really into making as big a mess as possible at dinner these days.

Bath time is still directly after dinner, just in case you were wondering.

Shocking.

Beach Baby

We had a lovely time celebrating the long Labor Day Weekend in Sandestin, with the fabulous Mr. and Mrs. Mooty as our hosts.

We played on the Beach...

We cheered on the Crimson Tide as they played a high school football team the Michigan Wolverines.
And by play, I mean dominated.

This little fan was slightly obsessed with always sitting in his pool float, with his Mickey Mouse balloon.
If this is why we won, don't think for one second, I won't pull this float and balloon out for every single game on the Road to 15.

We also found some new, interesting places to nap.

We loved watching and waving to the seagulls with our T.

And spending time with precious friends, like Sweet Dee Mooty.

And being good spots when Mommy wanted family pics on the Beach at sunset.

Bye Sandestin!
Thanks for having us - we'll be back next year!

Back to Reality

We're back from the Beach!

And it was applause-worthy for everyone...

More pics to come - hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend!
