Baby Bawler

Baby H is not just known as Snaggletooth, but also a Bawler.

More acentuated movements and physical toughness has led to some "OUCH!" moments with Mommy.

Head butts, pinches, and stomps are becoming the regular around here... all out of love I know.

Because he just can't get enough of Mommy.

Which leads to some bruises and red marks on Mommy... I hear it's the latest trend for Spring. I honestly thought he broke my nose the other night.  I heard a crunch and it's been tender since.

Say what?

Oh, H.  You're such a Bawler.

P.S. - Please keep our state in your thoughts and prayers as severe storms ripped through last night.  As of right now, over 100 injured and 2 dead.  Some of these are the same neighborhoods hit last April - not even a year ago.  And it's only January.  Here's hoping it's not another rough Spring in Alabama.  We are still rebuilding!

Nine Months!

Dear Harrison,

You are NINE months old! What a difference a month can make...

You are a total wiggle worm - if I glance away for one milli-second, you're gone.  Twisting, turning, crawling, sitting up and pulling up to standing sometimes.... WOW.

You are still lovin' Mickey Mouse and Little Einsteins, and also have an affection for the opening song of "The Big Bang Theory."  Wonders never cease around here.

You are love clapping your hands, and do so when we say "Yea Harrison!"  You like to dance when someone's helping you stand, and you have a weird fascination with the tags on your stuffed animals.  You also love to laugh and shriek, and are getting a more developed personality.  Read:  a temper when we take things away that you want.

You are in 9 month clothing... in fact some of them are too short on you, and I'm estimating you're around 18 pounds.  Still in Size 3 diapers.

You are still on Mommy Milk and eating 3 meals a day.

Just this week, a 3rd tooth has come in.  Which has been a lot of fun for everyone!  :)  I'm calling you Snaggletooth.

Meeting Baby Girl Meriwether

This evening, Harrison and I headed over to a dear friend and sorority sister's, Mrs. Meriwether, to meet her newest addition, Miss Layton, and take them some dinner.

You really do forget how little they are!

Isn't she a doll???

Miss Layton joins Big Brother Sam, who is a wonderful Big Brother.
H took quite a liking to him too!

Big Brother loves his Little Sister!
And also cookies, cupcakes, Superheros, his blankets, his Spiderman motorcycle, Layton's toys, Layton's rabbit, and new Mickey Mouse coloring book from Harrison.  :)

Pajama Jeans Update

Just in case any of you were on the edge of your seat about this...

Pajama Jeans.

Yes, I got them for Christmas.

They were everything I wanted, and so much more.

However, my darling Mr. Smith ordered one size too small, and so they have been sent back for an exchange.
("Better than order you a size too big, right?" he says.  God love 'em.  Husbands try, don't they?)

However, once I managed to squeeze into them... just to see what all the fuss was about... I can tell you they were fabulous.

But since it looked like a cross between me wearing H's jeans and having my legs sprayed painted navy blue... off they went back to the Returns Center.

Updates to come once I get my correct size.

Tonight is a big deal... Mr. Smith's birthday and the anticiption of our beloved Crimson Tide for their 14th National Championship.

It's like Christmas morning here, all over again.

Mommy Meanderings...

As mentioned previously, H is obsessed with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Little Einsteins.  Specifically, their opening songs and a wonderful little composition entitled "The Hot Dog Dance" that Mickey and friends sing.

As you can imagine, these tunes never get old.

As the Disney Channel is on constant rotation here, I can't help but fall victim to their little stories, and I can't help but wonder...

Why do Mickey and Minnie wear white gloves?

Why are only Minnie and Goofy fully clothed?  Micky - just pants.  Donald and Daisy - just tops.

Goofy and Pluto are both dogs.  Why is Goofy wearing clothes and standing upright, and Pluto is seen as Mickey's pet?

Why did Mickey invite everyone over for a co-ed sleepover on Christmas Eve to his Clubhouse?  Really Mickey?  Think that's a good example for my H?

Let's talk Little Einsteins.

These four kiddo's are jetting all over the world, at warp speed.  Where are their parents?  Do they go to school?

These are the things that keep me up at night, y'all.

That, along with the Hot Dog Dance song on repeat in my head.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year friends!

Guess who made the cover of Birmingham Parent Magazine's January issue?

That's our H!

It's about time he started earning his keep around here...
